In this series we get to know the team behind Nory. What are they working on? What’s on their bucket list? Do they have the culinary skills to pay the bills!?

What do you do at Nory?

I lead design. Which is a fantastic excuse to spend time with our users and customers, learning about what they do every day, how they do it and what good looks like to them!

The way I explain my job to our customers is: “I’m here to make sure Nory works for you”.

Favourite thing you have worked on?

So far? Setting up design at Nory while thinking a couple of years ahead. How we speak with our users, where we keep all their wonderful ideas and suggestions, how we use (scary word alert) prototypes to get context on what works and what doesn’t, what we measure in the product to tell us whether we’re doing a good job solving problems… it’s not one thing, I know, but it’s all so exciting!

If you could release one feature tomorrow what would it be?

The problem I’d love to solve is clearly showing how everything revolves around happy and productive restaurant teams! Show the connection between recent restaurant reviews, how they might’ve had an effect on sales, and how rostering your team in a balanced way could have an impact on both of those in a very short time.

Who’s at your dream dinner party and why?

Brian Griffin and Behemoth the cat. I’d serve ice cold vodka and plates of pickles, then listen to them talk.
